"Do You Hear What I Hear?" Lyrics:

Said the night wind to the little lamb
Do you see what I see
Way up in the sky little lamb
Do you see what I see

A star a star
Dancing in the night
With a tail as big as a kite
With a tail as big as a kite

Said the little lamb to the shepherd boy
Do you hear what I hear
Ringing through the night shepherd boy
Do you hear what I hear

A song a song high above the trees
With a voice as big as the sea
With a voice as big as the sea

Said the Shepherd boy to the mighty king
Do you know what I know
In you palace walls mighty king
Do you know what I know

A child a child
Shivers in the cold
Let us bring Him silver and gold
Let us bring Him silver and gold

Said the king to the people everywhere
listen to what I say
Pray for peace people everywhere
Listen to what I say

The child the child
Shivers in the cold
Let us bring him silver and gold
Let us bring Him silver and gold

The child the child
Sleeping in the night
He will bring us goodness and light
He will bring us goodness and light

Do you hear what I hear...
Do you hear what I hear...

Reflection:

In the joy of the Christmas season, this song encourages us to ask, "Do you hear what I hear"; do you see what I see?" What we hear is God's voice guiding us to the light of the Christ Child; what we see is God's Word enfleshed for us. Christmas reminds us that Love is made visible. Let us open and embrace the Gift of God!

John 1:14 - "And the Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us, and we saw his glory"

Matthew 1:25 - "For it is through the Holy Spirit that this child has been conceived in her. She will bear a son and you are to name him Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins"
